Project Overview

The platform is designed to keep your design briefs, projects, tasks, planning sheets, annotations, communication, and files together to keep your team on the same page and move work forward faster. Hello Ivy helps creative teams streamline their work, enhance collaboration, and improve productivity, making it effortless to bring your creative vision to life.

Our Goal

The main goal was to design the right architecture to then build a customer-facing platform and a back-end layer to supercharge the platform with all the needed features. These included a user management system with a subscription service in place, chat and collaborative editing functionality, file storage, and a project management suite.

Technical Challenge

Our development team conducted several workshops to gather information from the business side. Thanks to this step, we received a good picture of all the expectations, which helped us foresee potential challenges. It was important to have no gaps in our understanding to provide an excellent customer experience for the final user.

Process Timeline

From the team line-up and stack selection to production release

Initially, our effort was centered on sourcing highly professional and self-managed front-end and back-end developers for Hello Ivy. Over time, the scope of our development team's responsibilities has grown significantly:

2020

- We began our cooperation by analyzing project details during the discovery phase. This initial step allowed us to gather essential information and set a clear direction for the project;

- Started the development of the project with a team of 1 Front-end and 1 Back-end developers;

- Released the MVP version of Hello Ivy after 4 months of work using Vue.js and Node.js as the main technology stack;

- Added the first monetization system to support personal billing plans.

2021

- Increased the team size to 3 Engineers: 1 Back-end and 2 Front-end developers;

- Added full support for company and organization accounts, which allowed them to easily manage the onboarded teams;

- Added new team management-related features: Chat, Task board, Calendar, and Timeline.

2022

- Launched the updated version of Hello Ivy with a changed focus to business organizations;

- Added an additional Back-end developer to handle the increased feature scope;

- Enhanced the application's performance to significantly improve loading speeds on various mobile and desktop devices;

- Added a collaborative mode for projects and tasks by using the modern and reliable TipTap WYSIWYG text editor.

2023

- Added Google Calendar support and integrated it with our system Calendar;

- Completed a full redesign of the UI/UX of the application to match the needs of professional designers that use Hello Ivy’s product.

As a result of using Vue.js and Node, we implemented features like collaborative rich text editing, team chat, a notification center, easy-to-use file storage, and everything needed to keep you updated on your ongoing projects' status. We also integrated the web application with the Stripe payment system and set up a subscription model with different options depending on the number of users.
